Gusty wind Advisory #05:

A gusty wind advisory remains in force over Makin and Butarairi. The public should take precautions to minimize threats.

 

Spring Tide Advisory #11:

Tide predictions for the 08th of May 2024 indicate a high tide of 2.80 metres. Residents along the coasts are advised to take preparatory measures to minimize possible impacts.

 

The weather forecast for the Kiribati group and Banaba was issued at 0410pm Monday 06th May 2024 and valid until 6 am.

 

Situation: The Intertropical convergence zone remains slow moving north of the Northern Line Islands and extends westward over north of the Kiribati group. Associated clouds will affect some parts of the Northern islands.

 

Kiribati group and Banaba:

Light to moderate easterly to northeasterly winds of 01-16kt. Fresh at times over Makin and Butaritari.

Slight and moderate seas.

 

For Makin and Butaritari:

Tonight: Partly cloudy with isolated brief showers.

Tomorrow: Sunny apart from brief showers in the afternoon.

 

For Marakei, Abaiang, Tarawa and Maiana:

Tonight: Mostly fine.
