Gusty wind Advisory #04:

A gusty wind advisory remains in force for the northern islands especially Makin and Butaritari. The public is advised to take precautions to minimize possible impacts.

 

Spring Tide Advisory #10:

Tide predictions for the 08th of May 2024 indicate seal level of 2.80 metres and above. Residents living along the coasts are advised to take preparatory measures to minimize possible impacts.

 

 

The weather forecast for the Kiribati group and Banaba was issued at 0500am Monday 06th May 2024 and valid until 6pm.

 

Situation: The inter- tropical convergence remains north of the Northern Line islands extends westwards to north of the Kiribati group. Meanwhile, the trough of low pressure remains south of the Kiribati group and affect the Southern islands and Banaba.

 

Kiribati group:

Light to moderate easterly to southeasterly winds of 05-12kts and fresh at times over Makin and Butaritari in the Northern islands.

Slight to moderate seas.

 

For Makin and Butaritari:

Today: Cloudy with light to moderate showers easing in the afternoon.

Tonight: Fine apart from isolated brief showers.

 

For Marakei, Abaiang, Tarawa and Maiana:

Today: Partly cloudy with isolated morning brief showers.

 For Kuria, Aranuka and Abemama:

Today: Mostly sunny.

For Nonouti, Tabiteuea, Beru and Nikunau:
